Dr. Michael Rauzzino

Dr. Rauzzino was born in Philadelphia in 1961 and grew up in West Nyack, New York. He attended Bucknell University and completed Medical School at Texas Tech University where he received numerous honors. He completed his surgical internship at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

Dr. Rauzzino received his Neurosurgical training at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and completed a fellowship in Complex Spinal Disorders at the Henry Ford Hospitals in Detroit, Michigan. He completed a combined Neurosurgery and Orthopedic Surgery Spine Fellowship. He completed his Board Certification in Neurological Surgery in 2005.

He has served as Neurosurgical faculty at the Henry Ford Hospitals and also at Michigan State University training other surgeons in the newest techniques.

He has published numerous articles in refereed journals and has contributed to many surgical advances currently in use today. He has also served as a team physician for the Detroit Lions, Red Wings and Tigers.

Dr. Rauzzino has practiced in Denver since 2003. His family includes his wife Jill, and their four children (Perry 11, Andrew 9, Spencer 6, and Felix 4 months).

Dr. Rauzzino currently serves as the Chief of Neurosurgery and Neurosciences at the Sky Ridge Medical Center where he maintains a very busy clinical practice. He staffs a satellite office in Aurora and also has maintained a practice in Colorado Springs since 2006. He is actively involved in teaching and clinical research for improved outcomes.

His surgical focus is on Minimally Invasive Spinal Surgeries (MISS) and motion preservation surgeries using Cervical and Lumbar Artificial Disks (Disk Arthroplasty). Many of these surgeries can be accomplished with minimal incisions, are done an outpatient basis and have improved outcomes with faster recoveries.

Dr. Rauzzino regularly speaks to promote awareness to avoid brain and spinal injuries in children and adults. He and his office staff are active in sponsoring dog rescue programs with both financial support as dog fostering and adoptions. He has a special interest in promoting awareness and improved treatments for children with Autism.
